Anyone else have the time for Pennsic booked off yet?

I've been ready to go since the end of Pennsic 36. The only problem is I've been promoted and transferred to a different store since August and will have to wait until May to find out if I'll be able to get time off for Pennsic.

Luckily, my supervisor also frequently attends Pennsic. I told her before 36 that I needed all of Pennsic 37 off, without knowing the dates.

She's well aware of the fact that I might inflict harm on others if I don't get to go...

2 weeks off in August is part of my compensation package, and when I hired a new assistant we tried to make sure that the candidates weren't SCAdian, because they wouldn't be able to go, and that wouldn't be fair.

It is a unwritten law where I work that I at the very least get war week off. They know I'll just be cranky the entire year if I don't get my way. So they just submit to the will of the Pennsic Gods. :-)

Just got the nod for gulf wars and Pennsic..my 4 main weeks..yeah.

I get other time off but to make sure I get ALL 2 week so pennsic, and I took Gulf and the week after.(have to take my birthday week off )

have bought a new/used pavillion, and the last bits of new armour is being finished(now to get authorized ..LOL)

So tell me I am not the only one almost ready to go :)



I will get off for Pennsic. I have a Two Week Vacation each year. I don't know about Gulf Wars. i enjoyed it. but, it was not all of that and a bag of chips. I had a good time and really enjoyed what I did. It is not Pennsic. There are things about Gulf Wars that i wish pennsic would embrace. My Job knows that i do Pennsic each year. no doubt about it. hands Down, I am going.

Last year was the first year in the 10 years I've been here that the time became a problem. It got blamed on my pregnancy. Now they're trying to pull the same crap for this year.

During my interview I sat in the Human Resource directors office and said my family takes vacation the same time every year. Is this a problem? I was told no. I'll have to go back and see if I have that in writing. I also said I won't work my 40th birthday, whatever day that fell on.

Next week is my 40th birthday and I am not working the whole week, actually. And I WILL be at Pennsic, whether I'm working this job or not.

I just put in for my Pennsic vacation today and my boss just doesn't understand why I do this so early. Told her that I have lots of vacation coming to me each year and I MUST make sure that this one is one of the highest priorities. And this year will be a great one because it will be one of the times each year I get to be with my son while he is in the Marines. He thinks it's perfect for us to get to be together, but not be under each other's feet. And considering he gets to vacation with pirates and bellydancers ... well, it's all good.

I have(oh god!) a plan...

the lady and I are moving to Pittsburgh some time in June. and hour from War? I'll take it.

but I've reserved March for a camping trip in West-by-God Virginia. I already know about the foot or so of snow that will be waiting for us once we get there. but I figure if I can deal with winter in WV whilst sleeping outside, Pennsic will be a walk in the park.

After this years' war, I'll most likely be eating these words with a side of fava beans and a nice chianti.

Yeppers. I will be getting my pre-reg in as soon as possible. Got my bitchy boss to give me the time for Estrella(possibly), Gulf, and Pennsic in '08.... it sure is nice working for myself:)

I've got the ok for the full 2 weeks but, might just go for the second week again so as not to get behind on bills an stuff. Or maybe I'll just say hell with it and throw caution to the wind.

Responsibility has never been one of my strong qualities.

I'm requesting my time off on Monday, as our vacation time has just rolled over for '08. It's a standing agreement between Baris and myself that if one of should not get time off approved for Pennsic, we quit. I work hard all year, and I need my Pennsic!

After missing Pennsic last year due to starting a new job, putting my two weeks in for this year is the very first thing I did on the first business day of the new year.

I have my two weeks, my summer '08 semester ends a week before Pennsic, my fall '08 semester starts two weeks after Pennsic, the stars are aligned, I am THERE. *grin*

I've put in for it, but we'll see. It's a long drive from Dallas, so I have put in for 3weeks.

I can talk about getting the time off with my Supervisor in advance but I can't get it approved by my squadron till exactly a month before which SUCKS!! Nothing like getting all ready to go and then having them say NO when you're that close. THANKFULLY they've never done that yet! *crosses fingers*

Yep I have the time off. Mainly cause my boss might also be coming to Pennsic.

I am a nanny so I love my job.

I had War Week booked, but I lost my job. As I look for a new job, I think I'm going to make sure I get at least War Week off now. :o) Hopefully I'll get a job and be able to afford to go (I live in Michigan - the sucky economy state)

So, I just realized that I'm living only three to three and half hours away from pennsic! (I just moved here recently.) I will never be this close again (we're military so we move around a lot.) I haven't been to a pennsic since pennsic 23! I'm tentatively planning on going this year. (Depends on whether I have to take the children or not.) I would love to go though!
